The track definitely carries a lot of atmosphere and emotion, especially with the chords. The reviewer before this was right though, the track sort of seemed to drag on with the chords. They were perfectly executed, but the overall length was too monotonous. Don't get rubbed the wrong way, it simply comes down to preference. Loved the ending though, this could easily be added to an album.

Woah, loved how the end revealed that your lead melodic pluck was a vocal. It just felt like the bass needed to be mastered a bit, maybe make the kick and snare a bit more pronounced, but it was nice! Dug it!

The drums don't seem to blend well with the feeling you are going for. We recommend experimenting with higher register snares to get the more liquid-esque feel you are going for. Try to add some synths in there as well, maybe a distant pad or drone that sets the tone and mood. You have got a great idea, it just needs more work. Expand it, and try to change the beginning disjointed beat to something a little more exciting. Maybe layer a chopped up break over it, add some hi hat loops. Something.

The mix is just so good! The bassline and atmosphere was perfect. What ruined it for us was the lack of mastering. All of the sounds were distorted because you did not put a limiter on it. You have the option to replace sounds with your current tracks. Please put this back in your DAW and master it really quickly! Other than that, it was great!

FI5H responds:

As per request, limiter has been added. I purposely didn't add limiter while mastering this because the harshness and distortion is in the track on purpose. Well anyways, the track has been replaced with the limiter one, thanks for the feedback

While the composition of the track is great and the mastering is excellent, the bass felt kind of bland. You should try to incorporate progressively crazier sounds as you track progresses. Add some growls and screams to change up the bassline occasionally. Other than that, it was perfect. Great job!

NocturneLabs responds:

Thanks, I appreciate that you took the time to review the track :) I think that evolving into growls and screams as the track progresses is a good idea. I'll keep that in mind as I'm working on tracks in the future ^^

This one seems to have a little more order to it, which is much appreciated. We recommend mastering your tracks so you can achieve maximum volume without the annoying distortion that accompanies the simply controlling the volume levels. Perhaps an EQ and a stereo mastering would improve this track?

Other than that, interesting retro video game style you got going here. Keep up the good work!

8-BitCat responds:

Thanks for the review and the advice you gave me c: it is very much appreciated. Like I said before, I still have soo much to learn and I will try my best to do that cx thanks again

We suggest making your drums more pronounceable. The snare should be popping! The way they are currently playing makes them sound very low quality and quiet. For your low pulsating bass, you should also add a powerful sub to make up for the phased low end. The sound effect you had toward the end didn't blend as well either, so perhaps working on that in the future.

The atmosphere and melody is definitely your strongest point though. The dark feeling conveyed in this track gives it a sort of old school Darkstep feel, so kudos on that. Can't wait to see more of your stuff!

Absolutely sick drop you have there. Reminds us a lot of Dubsidia.

KingKilo responds:

Thanks! Appreciate it.

The track is put together very well, with a really pleasant variety in sounds. We especially liked the guitar sound midway to the end. We just feel like the low register is neglected though. There seems to be very little below 60hz. Keep up the good work!

Druids-Warcry responds:

yeah i tend to have problems with the low sounds in my productions. any ideas how i can work on that?

I love how powerful the basses are, and the Russian-feeling intro. Is there a reason that the snare sounds so muffled though? I think each hit would have more of an impact if the snare was improved a tad. Overall, love it!
